Beauty Diary: My Hair

You guys may be aware of my hair journey, I departed from weave in december 2009 and I have not gone back since. Its been tough, especially with outburst of the brazilian hair, the ombre effect, that pretty Kelly Rowland curls, the waves, the Kim Kardashian inspired hair styles. Even people who went through transition form relax to natural. I have been brave and loyal to my crop look which has seen many different styles of its own, shapes, layers to shaving in the last three years.

Now I keep my hair in a classic bob. But I am getting tired of it. Any suggestions?
Which style should I revisit. Let me know please

Beauty Tip: Steps to Beautiful, soft and kissable lips

For the past year, I've kind of gone of lipgloss when I dress up, Its all about lipsticks now, and I am on the verge of growing my collection. So these are my top five lip products, I absolutely love them.

For your lip product to sit well on you lips and look stunning, it needs a clean and smooth canvas. You will not hear this enough, Lip exfoliation should be one of the most important things in the life of a beauty conscious woman. I think everyone, boys, girls, old, young, should exfoliate their lips at least 3 time a week.

Tip 1
Wet a tooth brush with warm water and gently brush your lips to exfoliate it.

Tip 2
Use a lip scrub, I use Lush bubble gum lip scrub.
click the picture for my review
Or You can make your own lip scrub,
You will need
1. Granulated Sugar preferably brown
2. Olive oil
3. Side Plate
4. Teaspoon

Direction
Scoop a tea spoon of the sugar and then a tea spoon of the olive oil and mix them well together on the side plate.
Using a clean finger, apply the mixture unto you lips.
Firmly but gently rub the mixture over your lips. The sugar acts as a scrub and removes the dead skin whiles the oil penetrates an moisturise your lips
Do it about a minute on both the upper and the lower lip, or you can repeat the process till your mixture finishes, then use a warm and wet towel to remove the mixture from you lips.
Apply a moisturising lip balm, and that is it.

Tip 3
If you have tin lips and would like a fuller looking mouth, then when using tip one, apply pressure with the tooth brush,  this will cause blood to rush to your mouth.
After Apply excess moisturising lip balm and go into the a hot shower. Let the pressure from the water beat your lips, this will cause the lips to be hydrated and soak the moisturiser better.
Meaning a more plump and full lips.

Tip 4
For soft and smooth lips, before going to bed, use tip one or two and instead of normal lip balm, use you moisturising body lotion. But a lot of that on you lips and just sleep. By the time you wake up the product should have penetrated your lips, just wash it off and apply your preferred lip product.

All these tips will give you a soft, and beautifully smooth lips. If you intend to wear any shade of lipstick especially red or nude, you've got to spare us all the dreadful sight of cracked, chapped lips and follow the tips.
p.s sun is out so get a lip balm with at least SPF10 to avoid pigmented lip colour,

If you have any other tips, I would love to know, so please share them.

Haul Post: My Most Loved Purchases This Month

1. Laptop Table

Its amazing that this is on the top of my list, I feel like such a neek. But I like comfort, and sitting at the desk in my room makes me feel like such a neek. Using the laptop in bed makes it heat up, so I got this very convenient and affordable table with a cooling fan, a mouse board, a cup holder from ebay so now, I can blog, comfortably in bed.

2. New Look for my Mac

I have been meaning to remove the clear acrylic case around my baby, but I could not find one I liked to replace it with. I found this satin feel snap on case in black. It looks so sexy and stylish. Mac looks so much better now. (yup I refer to my laptop as a person, its a he and I love him very much)

3. Famous Lipstick in Kiss ME

Its a lie, I have had this lipstick for like two months now and I love it so much, I got an extra one. Its long lasting, very moisturising, and allows me to play with lip liners to achieve different shades.
I got it from Superdrug, if you are in the United Kingdom, I am not sure if they have discontinued the brand, but I would like to try the other shades.

4. Sleek Blush By Three Palette in Sugar
Turbinado             Muscovado              Demerara

This product is highly pigmented, I mostly use the matte colours during the day, but add shimmer for a glamours look when I am going out at night.  My favourite is the  Turbinado, it absolutely compliments my skin, however for a soft look i have to wear the 'Demerara' on stop.

I want to get the lace palette too, I love the colours, would really work for the summer. (what doe you think?)

5. Organice Root Stimulator Olive Oil Aloe Shampoo and Organice Root Stimulator Replenishing Conditioner

I absolutely love this shampoo and conditioner, It moisturises my hair and does not make it feel try out at all...I still prefer my Kera Care Hydrating shampoo when I want a deep clean, but i uses the replenishing conditioner to restore moisture back in my hair. Regardless this product really gets the thumps up from me.

Let me know if you use any of these products, or any product you think I may like.

Open Diary: 2012 Beauty Wish list

A month into the new year, I made some resolutions, but its the same ME! just a few adjustments...maybe?? *wink* lol
Since its a new year, I am gonna need new things, *right?* Yes so this is my wish list, beauty wise.

I love perfumes and I absolutely adore ones that have a very musky, strong and powerful scents. I love perfumes with velvet undertones because it sits well on my skin. It mixes with my personal scent and his heavenly.
When I tried the sample out, I was sold. Is very sensual and voluptuous.  Its highly concentrated in  oils this allows it to last long on both clothing and the skin. I usually I'm not a floral scent person, I'm more fruity or musky. But this has rich "woody" notes, and a hint of almond. The scent is very captivating, and its essence is grows stronger and more enchanting by the time. I have totally fallen in love with this perfume and I have to have it.

I sampled this in one of my glamour magazine issues. I love it I love it I love it. I will only wear it in summer or spring though. That is the thing with fruity perfumes. I can only wear it when the sun is out. It makes me more bubbly and ready to have fun.
The perfume is very feminine, from the way it looks, wrapped in a sleek and gorgeous apple like shaped bottle with a silver lid, to the notes in the perfume, a combination of  "the scent of apple with a sophisticated blend of exotic flowers and sensual woods."
This scent is very weightless and extremely refreshing. Its perfect for daytime but i will probably wear it during the night aswell.

I think I am addicted to fragrance with woody notes, because it divulges of musky undertones, which combine with the natural oils in my skin, is amazing. My mum absolutely fell in love when she smelled it.  There is a story behind this perfume, *read here*
Narciso Rodriquez; her eau de parfum is a combination of pink floral, soft amber and voluptuous woods. Realeasing a sensual musky scents which lingers through our the whole day and longer. The perfume is very enchanting and mysterious, however it is still very soft and has convey pastel and silky notes. The sensuality from the notes illustrate  glamor and elegance.
Its very unique scents which will linger until very long.

For now, I do not own anything from Illamasqua, but that is about to change. Browsing through their site, I have been inspired, so this year, I'm going to add a few items from their collections to my makeup bag. My favourite is this , bronzing duo, and this burgundy colour nail vanish.

One of my resolution, is to stock up on Make Up Make Up Make Up.
But the thing is that, though I love Make Up, and I wear it a lot, its not excessive. People can go through 3 tubes of the same lipstick in a year, but I cannot even finish one. And Cosmetics DO EXPIRE, so its like I don't want it to be a waste. But I am gonna.

Well then this is my wish list, beauty wise, let me know yours.
Thanks for Reading

Open Diary: Sun is Out, so are the Feets

I am not going to show any nasty feet pictures. but I will talk about them, in graphic language.
Disclaimer: This is not for the faint hearted. so please ignore the following paragraph

One thing i hate about summer, is the toes that come out with it. At the age of nine, when I escaped from the heat wave in Western Africa, Ghana, I thought I would never have to witness a crusty toe again. But England is worst with the toe epidemic.
Oh My, on London tube, is the worst. The victoria line, Piccadilly, aye the Central .... all you see is, crusty bunion toes with broken yellow nails, some of them look like some type of toe fungus is growing on them. And then they got cracked heels ( i keep flinging whiles writing this), They got cracked battered heels. Oh MY days... that just add insult to injury, because they have the nerve to wear flip flops. So they are showing both, the crusty toes and then the cracked up heels.
And the worst is the dry skin, dry no moisturised skin. Its like how cheap is a moisturiser, especially if they are sporting something expensive.
(shame on you, if you have walked out of your house in flip flops without moisturising your feet)

I think everybody should moisturise their skin, not only does it enhance the appearance of your skin, but it also reduces wrinkles and help your skin looks younger for old age. It firms your skin, and makes it youthful for longer, ask any expert.

Especially your feet, take care of it, please, pedicure every ones in a while won't kill you. But If you are on a budget, do it your self. it is not hard. Get a foot scrub and scrub that dead skin off. Get a nail clipper and trim those nails, then file it. Get a nice nail polish, bright colours are good on your toes, they take the attention of those crusty bunions. Or go for french manicure, the look so much  more better. I prefer blue nail polish on my toes, the colour suit my skin.

Lush Bubblegum Scrub Review

Most of you might already know about this, but I discovered it a week ago, and I am in-love. Now, now, don’t get your hopes up, it’s not a guy...(not a girl either, just to clarify things) but it’s a lip scrub.
It might sound silly, but I am infatuated with my lips, I love them, that has not always been the case believe it or not.

When I was younger, I use to hate having full lips. Zateesha blogged about natural hair recently, (you can read the post by clicking here) some of you might not understand.

From a young age, the media, fashion industry and all things around us, have bombarded us with what the ideal beauty is... and we grow up feeling awkward with ourselves if we do not posses that “beauty” (we will get into this in a different post)

The crucial objective of this post is about this lip scrub from lush.
My friend Dian introduced me to it. I purchased the bubblegum flavor one. It is made “with exfoliating castor sugar and delicious vegan flavour to gently scrub away rough skin, keeping your lips smooth and kissably soft.”

You can trust me to say that, YES it does. And it is so easy to use, you moisture your lips by licking it and then you use your finger, rub your lips together and the lick it off.

My lips feels so soft every time I use it and the best part is when you put on lipstick, you don’t get that nasty cracks with peeled lips, because your lips are smooth and its only a fiver.
Plus all their products are hand made which gives it a bonus. I am going invest in more of their products.
