Open Diary: Day Out of the East

To Whom This May Concern,

I am going on holiday again,  I went Ghana in January it was very hot. I can't understand how even though I am an African. Born in the heat wave of Ghana. I'm telling you, if you crack an egg open on the pavement, it will sizzle up nicely. In view of this fact (in my head lol) I can't understand why anytime the sun comes out, a migraine comes searching for me out of nowhere. Today was a sizzling day. London reach 32 degree celsius, and although my fellow Londoners were enjoying the heat in bikini tops and miniskirts although I could not see the beach or even a swimming pool 50miles away, I still had to witness, "flabs" and "man cleavage" the whole day. *NASTY*

I went to Oxford Street a few days ago. I remember back in the days, when I was somewhere between 15-17 my mum would give me £50.00 to go shopping with my friends and I would come home with so much stuff. But these days that only buys a pair of jeans. Things are so expensive, even items on sale, are not really on sale lol. I got this lovely dress from Jane Norman, It was £50.00, I got it for £25.00, which is a real bargain, so why do I feel ripped off. £25.00 should have been the normal price and I should be paying half of that. I went to Primark to get some holiday gifts, and wow, the gift was a detriment to my bank balance, I am still dreading the idea of checking my statement. How the chuck do I spend £115.00 in Primark. This holiday is really draining me, I always pay with my debit card when I can so that I can trace my money, however, I don't think I want to know where my money went.

I love shopping I really do, but you know when you spot an item you like, and this vulture will be spying on you, hoping and waiting for you to leave it, so they can snatch it! it really annoys me, it makes me buy things I don't want only to return it later. I also hate people cross walking me, especially on Oxford Street, it is so busy and people will be walking so close to you its nasty. Now that it is summer, the shops are so busy, there are people every where and the Body Odour is of the radar.

One last thing, I saw a lot of men wearing those shirts, the V-neck one that shows of the man cleavage. It disgust me. especially if the mans chest is bare meat. I am all for embracing your inner fashion diva, I definitely do, but make sure you are in the position to do so. I went into Aldo and the guys that works there were rocking the capri trousers and socks-less shoes. their ankles were dry and scabby, NASTY.

Anyways, I end here. I am tired, So I think I'm gonna go to bed.

Hypnotised by the fashion devil at New Look....

YES! I did rant about disliking ‘Primani’ and now New Look in a previous post [read here]. But I think I need to swallow a bit hard, and tell you that I found these cute shorts in New Look plus an oversized knitted top and  I was hypnotized to buy them, I think when I entered the shop I was drugged. Because I resisted buying them, I really did.

It happened like this, I went in there to pay the bill I told you about, and they were hanging on the wall in a corner by the entrance you couldn’t miss them. High wasted vintage shorts, popper hard denim; you don’t get jeans like that for £19.99 anymore. I cursed the little devil on my shoulder telling me to have a closer look and went straight to the till to pay.

The following night, I could not sleep, I had to get them. So the next evening, after university, I marched straight there, behold I found a matching jumper. I pushed the angel aside and I bought them and I love them!...

By the way, I purchased these on the 5th of March so I have not broken my Lent

GET THE LABEL Wishlist

One of my resolution for this year was to wear more dresses. I remember a time when I used to think it was a punishment whenever I was 'forced' to wear a dress. I used to always wear jeans and trousers, I only wore a dress or a skirt to please my mother.

Do not get me wrong, I was never a typical tom-boy, I loved clothes too much for that, but I would prefer to tuck in my jeans in my boots, Alicia Keys style.

I used to really love her, it is embarrassing to recall this, me and my friend performed 'gangsta love' Eve ft Alicia Keys at a school talent show, I so badly dread the thought.

Without swaying of the subject of this post, let me just say this... I love dresses, I really I'm starting to love these dresses. Wearing dresses make me feel so lady like, smart and absolutely fabulous. You can be feeling like the biggest tramp inside, but if you have on a really nice dress and cute shoes, nobody will see the person you are feeling inside.
My latest finds are on this amazing website getthelabel.com they have affordably cute dresses that are good for day to day, dinners and going out. I got my trey day dress from there.

I can and I will say it!..

image from dreams time

I am not a big fan...(scratch that) I am not a fan of Primark (Primani). Not because their clothes are cheap (I really don’t think they are) or because the quality isn’t that great. Not even because their jewelry gives me rashes. Nope I am not a fan because their collections are too common. And that is one of my pet peeves.

I hate wearing things everyone has, I know the world dose not revolve around me, though I would like to think it does. But I like exclusivity, being unique and different, I like it when people go “wow, that is nice... where is it from?” And I would pat my nose and go “would you not like to know” with a big smirk on my face.

I feel like with Primark, when you walk into the room, everybody knows where it is from. Pardon me; I am not being totally fair... I do like some things from there. I like their tights, their basic essential t-shirts, their laundry baskets, some of their lingerie   (I prefer M&S or La Senza) I like their casual shoes for, even some of their earrings, like those “smarties” looking studs, launched 2/3years ago.  I am just saying... I would not “rock” an outfit from there... PERIOD

A friend of mine, I would not mention her name, but it starts with a [D][.][.][.] ends with an [A]. She totally loves the shop. Sometimes I see her in this beautiful dresses and T-shirts from Primark, and I’m so envious, but being strong headed as I am, I refuse to get an outfit from there.

do you get why i say its too common??

I liked New Look, but in my opinion, it has become the new Primani. Most of these rude teenagers have made it super common, plus after I watched that documentary “Fashion Dirty Secret” (read my report here) it put me off even more. The recent thing, they did to make me more angry is charging me a late payment fee of £12.00 I thought you had 55days to pay. I am mostly angry with the fact that I only bought items which added up to £36.00 which I had cash to pay for but decided against it as using the card benefited my credit score. From now, the only store card I’ll be using is my outfit one.

What is your favourite shop, and what is your least favourite?
I know some people will chant about this post, please make the time and post a comment, let me know your view. :D

So I bought a Ghosh nail polish... and nothing more...

This year I told myself, Nana! NO unnecessary shopping. Except from the fact that i missed the Christmas sale, so i had to blow £450 when i got back. *I'm still in shock* Will Smith is right,
people (me)
buy things (clothes, perfumes, shoes, make,)
they don't need (i got so much clothes i broke my wardrobe, shoes they don't fit on the rack... perfumes i got my own and so does my mother... hers i can borrow.)
with money they don't have (well i have but it could have gone to something better)
to impress people (i only impress my self)
they don't even like (i like everybody until you don't like me)

Long Story short... today after Uni, went to the shopping centre to wait for my next bus home. All the clothes were like buy me, buy me! but i walked passed the shops...i did not even go into a single one, i headed straight for super drug. Remember my last post about my Ghosh purchase... well there was a little voucher in there £2.00 of any Ghosh product. I had seen this nail liqueur i wanted so i thought why not.

When i go there, BarryM are doing sales 2 items for £6 something, so saving you over £2.00, You should see me, I picked up the lip crayon, the eye shadow dust 'tingy'... whatever the called it.. some nail liqueurs. And then my will power kicked in.
I put them all back on the shelves and i walked out of the shop. With the Ghosh nail polish ofcourse *and yes i payed for it lol- what do you think this is*

Anyway... I am highly proud of my self.

BEAUTY PURCHASE....GHOSH

When I returned from Ghana on the 21st of January, I was a bit down, because I was back to the cold... cold... British weather? Err a little... Because I left my family and would probably not see them for another year or two... Err maybe...

What really got me down was the fact that I had missed the sales. The great new year sales. I blogged about my despise for sales, the whole atmosphere, but I love the bargains I get when I shop.
The next day I set out to do a few runs, you know check my bank, sort out the pile of letters waiting at my door when I returned.

When I got the shopping center something pushed me into super drug and behold, there on the far corner shelves where boxes of GHOSH goodies.

I was love struck, beautiful Quattro Eye Shadows usually at a retail price of £8.49, Velvet Touch Eye Liner usually priced at £4.99 , On Stage cool lip jam *could not find the price it should be between £4-8 ...All this for less than £5.00? slap me somebody. Of course I was going to buy it, who wouldn’t...tell me and I’ll slap them. Laugh out loud

Certain selfish people (innocent face) bought all the other colors so I cold only find two different colors. My second ox had the same package in it minus the eyeliner and had High Precision Mascara.

I would love to show off my purchase but when I got home, I was too excited to that I forgot to take pictures. But here is a snap of my BARGAIN

LONELY EVENING....EPIPHANY

Hey lovelies,

I’m home alone, sitting in front of the television, watching ‘Sex and the City’, how I love Carey’s shoe collection. Today I have basically done nothing; I woke up so late all I can do is go into town to check out the sales. Must I say it is ridiculous!. An exclamation mark to emphasize it… And what kills it is that, is not even the first day, I mean…the sales started in Sunday so imagine how it was. I saw pictures, trust me it was scary. People actually camped outside the shops, don’t you have access to Internet, shop online, if is not right when you get it, send it back, that’s my motto.

But today I decided to pop in to River Island, the clothes were scattered everywhere, I don’t know how people find stuff. My friend got some really nice things. One hot skinny jeans, like the super ones and some OMG heels. They are killer!!!! The bomb. I sound stupid now.

You want to know the point of this blog post. Sorry I don’t really have one. I am bored, alone…so I thought I would nag.  Guess what I learned. I hate sales...this is my epiphany *abit extreme you would presume* I love the things I get, but I hate the atmosphere…women become animals, their instincts are up, they will snatch any item they see. Inconsiderate, some woman even step on my shoes without saying sorry… And what I hate the most, when you see something you like, they will not have your size, you end up wasting your time and coming home with things you did not even want in the first place because you feel the need to buy something.

I got nothing today but I will try again tomorrow. I hate it but what can I say I AM A WOMAN. A young girl that is.
